Only in today’s messed up, hyper-politicized environment is fascism disguised as “anti-fascism,” authoritarianism disguised as “democracy,” and political differences of opinion defined as hate — which perfectly explains why most college campuses have turned into major recruiting hubs for domestic terrorists.
A pair of professors — one from Purdue University and the other from Stanford University — are using their positions to actively recruit for an organization that the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI determined was a “domestic terrorist” organization during the Obama administration.
As Campus Reform notes, the organization is officially known as Campus Antifascist Network, or CAN — but its goals and objectives align perfectly with Antifa, the alleged “anti-fascist” fascist group responsible for nine-tenths of the political violence at GOP nominee Donald J. Trump’s political rallies and events last year.
To understand the ‘logic’ of the violent, anarchist Alt-Left, the professors are insisting that they only support “self-defense” by “those who are being threatened by fascists” — the same BS excuse Antifa terrorists use to attack peaceful conservative and pro-Trump supporters.
Campus Reform noted further that the professors’ goal in forming CAN is to drive groups it has self-defined as “fascists” completely “off campus.”
Inside Higher Ed noted further:
Network co-organizer Bill Mullen, a professor of American studies at Purdue University, on Wednesday called CAN a “big tent” that “welcomes anyone committed to fighting fascism.”
“We are diverse in our political points of view but unified by our fight against fascism,” he said. The idea is “to drive racists off campuses and to protect the most vulnerable from fascist attack.”
But really, CAN isn’t going to be “diverse” because like other anarchist Alt-Left organizations including Antifa, these soon-to-be domestic terrorists have already decided that Trump and his supporters, which include many conservatives, are the enemy.
“The election of Donald Trump has emboldened fascist and white nationalist groups nationwide, on campus and off, and their recent upsurge requires anti-fascists to take up the call to action once again,” reads an invitation to join the group, which was posted on social media this week by David Palumbo-Liu, the Louise Hewlett Nixon Professor and professor of comparative literature at Stanford University.
“Since Trump’s election, fascists, neo-fascists, and their allies have used blatantly Islamophobic, anti-semitic, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, and ableist messaging and iconography to recruit to their ranks and intimidate students, faculty, and staff,” he continued.
“The time to take action is now,” he said, noting, “we call on all interested individuals and organizations to support or join” CAN.
So there you have it: Because there are likely some white supremacist and neo-Nazi supporters of Trump, all of his supporters must be similarly racist and bigoted, right? Because who else but racist bigots would support a guy like Trump — is how their ‘logic’ goes. So to these fools, all 62.9 million Trump voters are the enemy.
In an interview with Campus Reform, Palumbo-Liu used the same code language all Alt-Left Marxists have used to justify shutting down opposing political speech with violence. He said “the groups that concern [CAN] the most are fascist in the sense they espouse a hateful ideology that targets particular groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, [or] sexuality, and wish to dominate, exclude, drive out, and harm members of those groups with force and violence.” (Related: Campus “tolerance” on parade as WHITE or STRAIGHT students banned from LGBTQ “safe space.”)
Of course, Antifa and aligned groups like Black Lives Matter are guilty of the same things they are accusing other groups of doing. In fact, according to the federal government, Antifa is worse, having reached the level of domestic terrorism.
“The issue really is not speech, but rather the kinds of actions a group is known to engage in that precisely impinge upon others’ free speech, academic freedom, and civil liberties,” Palumbo-Liu said. “We are organizing to protect members of campus communities from groups that come to campus to provoke physical confrontations, purposefully destroy property, invade individuals’ privacy.”
That’s exactly what DHS and the FBI said Antifa does — show up to provoke violence with the Right.
