On election night last November, Hillary Clinton did something that many believed was odd at the time: She called President Obama to apologize to him for losing to Donald J. Trump.
“Mr. President, I’m sorry,” she reportedly said, leaving not a few political observers and pundits to ask themselves, “Why would she do that?
The answer to that question is playing out in a series of scandals that are finally being revealed this week involving Hillary, her husband, President Obama and many former members of his Cabinet.
One of two bombshells leaked to separate news outlets this week said the FBI was aware of a multitude of criminality surrounding the controversial Uranium One deal before the Obama administration (Clinton included) approved it, which then gave control of 20 percent of all U.S. uranium reserves to Russia.
Reports dating back to 2015 noted that, as the deal progressed, tens of millions of dollars flowed into the Clinton Foundation from donors who had a vested interest in seeing the deal go through (some of whom may have been tied to Russia). But much more scandalous, according to a new report last week, is the fact that the Obama administration’s Justice Department was aware of racketeering and bribery of U.S. officials by Russian operatives as the deal progressed, yet allowed the sale to proceed anyway. Even more damning: Obama had received regular briefings and updates about Russia’s criminal plot to corner the global uranium market.
What’s more, the FBI had a witness to the chicanery — an American businessman-turned-informant who had the goods on everyone tied to the Uranium One deal. But Obama’s Justice Department refused to allow him to inform Congress and even threatened to jail him if he proceeded with a lawsuit to recoup lost assets.
Now, however, Trump’s Justice Department is lifting the gag order on the witness and will allow him to tell lawmakers what he knows about all of the corruption surrounding the Uranium One sale.
Which means, of course, that the Clinton-Obama house of cards is about ready to fall — something that never would have happened had Clinton won in November as everyone expected her to.
No wonder she called Obama to apologize.
As for the lifting of the gag order, The Gateway Pundit notes that the informant came forward recently and revealed he has devastating information related to the sale. Represented by D.C. power attorney Victory Toensing, it now appears that he’ll get to tell his side of the story to lawmakers who are very interested in getting to the bottom of all of this.
Fox News reported further:
In a statement, the department said it had authorized the informant to discuss the 2013 agreement — known as Uranium One — and related matters with the leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the House Oversight committee, and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Specifically, the department noted further that the informant could provide “any information or documents he has concerning alleged corruption or bribery involving transactions in the uranium market,” including Russian company Rosatom, subsidiary Tenex, Uranium One and the Clinton Foundation.
All three committees began investigations into the sale once The Hill reported that the FBI had evidence of foul play before it was finalized. In fact, the paper noted, the corruption began as far back as 2009 with Rosatom’s Maryland-based subsidiary, Tenex.
“Republicans also have raised concerns about efforts by interested parties to influence the Clintons – citing donations to the Clinton Foundation as well as a $500,000 speaking fee received in Russia by former President Bill Clinton, who reportedly met with Vladimir Putin around the time of the deal,” Fox News reported.
Just imagine how much less Americans would know about the politicization of the federal law enforcement and intelligence communities had Clinton pulled off a victory nearly a year ago.
Now, things look much different — for her and for the future of our country.
It’s about time this woman and her cronies were held responsible for their high crimes against the American people.
