Steve Kirsch, founder of the Vaccine Safety Research Foundation, warned his Substack readers and subscribers not to trust cloud storage and data hosting platform Wasabi, because it deplatformed him for being outspoken about his strong opposition to vaccines, especially the experimental Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) shots.
“Wasabi suspended my account with no notice and without even talking to me to hear my side of the story. I did not violate their terms of service,” Kirsch announced regarding his account deactivation on Dec 1 at 6:00 p.m. EST. “There is no publicly available information on my site that violates anyone’s privacy or is a copy of anyone’s data.” The anti-vaccine activist said that when he reached out to Wasabi’s CEO, urging him to call to hear his side of the story, the company executive ignored Kirsch. Because of this, he urged all never to trust Wasabi to host anyone’s data.
WARNING!!! MEGA and Wasabi can remove all your data anytime they want even if you’ve done nothing wrong. Kevin McKernan lost YEARS of work. https://t.co/Egb5i1ZRLD

Following the deactivation, he posted on X, formerly Twitter, to say that he now would need a “bulletproof” hosting provider. “The opposition convinced Wasabi to ‘inactivate’ my account. These people will stop at nothing to ensure nobody finds out the truth. Suggestions?” he tweeted. Medicinal Genomics founder Kevin McKernan, replied to his social media post, suggesting MEGA. The entrepreneur also proactively mirrored Kirsch’s data but MEGA deleted everything in his account.
“MEGA nuked Kevin’s entire one TB account without any warning whatsoever. All the links to his research in his Substack are now BROKEN. All his data was permanently deleted and they wouldn’t give him a copy,” Kirsch revealed. “Hundreds of thousands of dollars and years of Kevin’s work were all destroyed due to unfounded accusations from the New Zealand Ministry of Health (NZMH).” He added that NZMH has no basis whatsoever in demanding the data be taken down and that they should publicly apologize for this and pay damages.
After seeing this post, I made the mistake of mirroring his NZ data on Mega.
Seemed like a bandwidth issue easily solved with a few mirrors. Mega is in NZ and I’ve always had great performance from them. Paying customer since 2016. pic.twitter.com/0Yynq3gAgW

According to McKernan, it seemed like a bandwidth issue easily solved with a few mirrors. “Mega is in NZ and I’ve always had great performances from them. Paying customers since 2016,” he remarked.
Following the unfortunate incident, Kirsch has also recommended against using MEGA in his newsletter. “The law doesn’t matter to hosting providers such as Wasabi and MEGA. These firms will disable access to your data and/or destroy your data based on THEIR OPINION and they are not liable for the loss of your data,” he further lamented. Meanwhile, he urged everyone to cancel the existing accounts on the two cloud hosting sites and move to a different provider.
“I now use IZT and was up and running in hours. I have a private dedicated server and use MinIO to replicate the S3 storage interface. They were super friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend them enough. They also follow me on Substack, so they are redpilled,” he said, also naming other providers such as American Cloud whose CEO reached out to him after learning about what happened with Wasabi. “Please support businesses that do not give in to censorship and avoid those that do,” he urged.
German-Finnish Internet entrepreneur and political activist Kim Dotcom warned, back in 2015, that MEGA is being controlled by the New Zealand government.
Back then, his original hosting service Megaupload had its servers wiped clean before U.S. authorities launched an effort to have him extradited on charges of hosting and encouraging the upload of stolen media. He was sued but this did not deter him from launching the Megaupload successor Mega, which was designed to be faster and more secure than any competitors on the market. Dotcom said that time that he no longer had any involvement in MEGA after the company suffered “a hostile takeover by a Chinese investor who was wanted in China for fraud.” The investor apparently accumulated enough shares covertly, to stage the takeover. However, the shares were seized by the NZ government, he alleged.
“Which means the NZ government is in control. In addition, Hollywood has seized all the Megashares in the family trust that was set up for my children. As a result of this and several other confidential issues, I don’t trust MEGA anymore. I don’t think your data is safe there anymore,” he disclosed.
